It’s been more than a month with no podcasts and precious few updates to the site. Are you guys done? If so, it would be a crying shame. I’ve enjoyed most of the stuff you have done and I, for one, would be sad to see you go.

I have been really enjoying the new instances. There is quite alot of fun to be had. Although not quite geared for heroics yet, I am having alot of fun in normal dungeons. What is everyone else’s experience with the new instances?

Got the game on monday. Wow!! beautiful game and i love the way the enemies get increasingly harder. The option to dodge, block or parry is nice. I have already seen the alternate ending but haven’t beaten the big boss yet.

Show Us Your UI

Most of us love switching ‘round our UIs. I know that though I’ve played with the stock UI quite a bit… especially lately as we’ve had many updates which have borked addons… but that seems to be mostly behind us.

I’ve tried some new UIs over the last month, some complete packages, and they were interesting.

I almost always run with a bunch of addons. I took a little break once for 4.0, but I’m back into the swing of it.

So show us your UI. Post a screenshot and let us see your setup.

I recently stopped using realUI. I actually used it for a month or more, but there are aspects about it that I’m not crazy about. It’s super-simple in terms of very little clutter on the screen… which I love… but I found that I was missing TOO much.

I’ve just installed SpartanUI, and after some tweaking and updating with more addons, it’s actually looking to be the UI setup that I’ll be using on all my toons for a while. I love having my information as well as my target’s at the bottom of my screen. Same with my map. I want most things in my focal spot, so that my eyes don’t have to dart all over the screen while I play. You don’t notice this as much on smaller screens, but try on a 27” and you’ll see what I mean.

I’ve included shots from my old UI, which I’d heavily modified and loved for a bloody long time. The only problem is that periodically, Pitbull would crap out on me and corrupt the saved profiles even, leaving me with a mess on my screen.

The oh so minimalist screenshot is of realUI. There are hidden bars courtesy of Bartender in the bottom third of the screen, which only appear during combat (or have a a target). I wasn’t crazy about that. I know I could have changed that, but then it would have changed the entire look of the mod… and it wouldn’t have worked well, in my opinion.

The last screenshot is the one that I think I’ll be using for a while… with tweaks forthcoming. I may move Omen and WoW Pro Leveling on the right side, and put Healbot there instead. Even as a DPS class, I prefer having Healbot or Vu Doh active so I can keep an eye on everyone’s heal and mana. We’ll see.

Uncharted 3 - Gameplay Footage

Did anyone else catch the gameplay footage of Jimmy Fallon with the Naughty Dogs devs playing Uncharted 3?

There are videos of it on YouTube if you want to search for it.

Looked very, very similar to Uncharted 2’s gameplay… which isn’t a bad thing. The video I saw wasn’t the clearest, so it was hard to tell whether or not it actually looks better than 2.

Either way… made me very excited to play this game.

Having read the comic myself. I am really enjoying it and can’t wait for the other 3 issues in the 4 part series.

Also a side note: The wow comics are now being distributed digitally. They have 4 issues out now (well 5 if you count issue #0) and I have been picking them up each week as they release them

GT5: A & B Teams

So initially, I didn’t think I could give a rat’s ass about a B team for Gran Turismo 5. Now? I’m just as invested in my B team (comprising of a couple drivers) as I am in my solo career.

I mean, my solo career is higher level, but I’m catching up with my B team. I’m careful with leveling them up when I’m at the controls, but to be honest, sometimes I just sit back and read while they go about winning races.

It’s awesome.

Plus, it’s an easy way to make some creds to buy better cars or upgrades.
